    Tall Tale writing course for intermediate learners

    Welcome to the Tall Tale Writing course for Grade 4+ students! This course is designed to help students improve their writing skills and achieve success in Tall Tale writing assessments and examinations. Throughout the course, students will learn the key elements of Tall Tales, including character development, plot structure, and figurative language. This course will give students the tools they need to excel in Tall Tale writing and achieve Grade A results. Join us on this exciting journey and unleash your imagination!

    Focused Training on Tall Tale Writing

    • Students will learn about the structure and elements of a tall tale, including creating a hero and villain, developing a plot mountain, and using figurative language

    • The course will provide in-depth instruction on various types of figurative language, including simile, metaphor, hyperbole, and onomatopoeia, and how to use them effectively in tall tale writing

    • Students will practice writing compound and complex sentences using conjunctions and connectives such as FANBOYS and A WHITE BUS, and learn how to form paragraphs that build upon each other to create a cohesive story

    Is it a video course? Or is it a Zoom course?

    This is a video course. This video course offers highly flexible learning experiences when paired with our detailed Writing Adventure Guide – parents can learn alongside your child, and understand how to best support your kid's learning. Also, the videos can be replayed as many times as needed to fully understand the concepts.

    What should we do if we have questions?

    If you have any questions during the course, you can reach out to us through our online platform (the Discuss tab), via email (info@fabclass.org), or WhatsApp (+852 9539 3409). That said, we believe our course is very comprehensive and has clearly laid out all the criteria necessary to score an A grade with detailed explanation, but if necessary, our instructors will schedule phone calls or Zoom sessions with students to clarify any questions or concerns. We are always happy to help and provide support throughout the course.

    The fee for the course is HKD 950/course.

    Are there live sessions or webinars with the instructors?

    While the course is primarily based on video lessons, instructors can schedule live Zoom sessions with students if necessary to address questions or concerns.

Ms. Joanne has over a decade of experience teaching writing to students of all ages and backgrounds. Prior to joining FabClass, she served as a former teacher at Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School, where she earned a reputation as a dedicated and inspiring teacher. Her students consistently praised her for her ability to make writing fun and engaging, while also challenging them to improve their skills. Ms. Joanne is committed to helping students of all ages become confident and skilled writers, and she brings her wealth of knowledge and experience to every lesson.
